Letterboxing stamp
Paul Kaufman of Arizona (Deviant sonorantree) has created a really nice two-color "letterboxing" stamp based on my Prehistoric Style Art and with my permission. Like geocaching, letterboxing (see https://www.atlasquest.com/) plants boxes that are found through clues and then the stamps within the found boxes are collected. I would normally include an image here of the stamp he created, but I don't want spoil the fun of finding the box to learn which animal is depicted. Here is the link to the box: https://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.php?boxId=301343
Installation at Local Library
Prints of my Prehistoric Style Art (obtained from DeviantArt) have been mounted on the walls of the local public library: Library of the Canyons, 7531 East Santiago Canyon Road, Silverado, CA 92676. I applied the corresponding animal tracks (based on my plaster castings) to the library walls leading to each print, plus some tracks coming into the main entrance. Visitors learn more about our wonderful canyon wildlife as they follow the tracks to their makers. I posted a video on my YouTube channel of the October 7, 2017, public event introducing this installation [link]. The LA Times Daily Pilot also ran an article and photos: http://www.la
My Prehistoric Style RCM signature
Some ancient artists left behind their hand prints on the cave walls, so I designed a way to sign my prehistoric style art with my initials RCM within my own right hand print. The R is made by my palm and outer fingers; the C is within my palm; and the M is made by my middle three fingers:
Animal Track Guide
When I was teaching scouts about animal tracks, I prepared this guide of full-size tracks for our area in Orange County, southern California. This guide was based on my plaster casts of actual local tracks.
